Why hasn't there been any groundbreaking inventions recently?

The same reason why there are no classical movies made today, and no old people are born right now.

We judge movies as classical and inventions as “groundbreaking” if they pass the test of time, and leave a mark on history. We have to wait a while and see whether that happens.

Will the SpaceX Starship be a groundbreaking invention? Maybe. Will their Boring company be “groundbreaking”? It literally is, but figuratively we dont know yet. Will the AIs worked on change the world? We got to wait and see. Will CRISPR change the way we think about life, and how we manufacture it? My guess is yes, but its just a guess.

One of the only known groundbreaking inventions lately is the MCAS on the 737.
