What is the biggest invention in the world? I am unsure if this could be classified as an invention, but it is pretty impressive nevertheless. NEW-CENTURY-GLOBAL-CENTRE According to the  Independent  newspaper: “The numbers are little short of staggering; at 500 metres long, 400 metres wide and 100 metres high a 1.76-million-square-metre-mega-building has been opened in Sichuan province in southwestern China. The New Century Global Center, officially the largest freestanding building in the world, took three years to complete and will house offices, shopping malls, a Mediterranean village, a 14-screen IMAX Cineplex and an ice-skating rink large enough to hold international skating competitions.” Also in China, and perhaps more relevant as an invention, is this structure here: GREAT WALL OF CHINA According to  History Extra : “The Great Wall of China is an ancient series of walls and fortifications located in northern China, built around 500 years ago.   What's an example of a good invention that never gained traction and disappeared? ————- Wireless Electricity ————— Nikola Tesla, the Serbian-American inventor, spent a great deal of time developing a way to transmit electrical power without wires back in the 1890s. In fact, with his famous Tesla coil, he achieved this – and used his invention to light three incandescent lamps from about 30 metres. But 30 metres is not far enough, and Tesla never managed to transfer electricity over more than relatively short distances. Imagine your phone getting charged in your pocket as you walk around the house or your electric car getting charged while you drive. (wireless charging doesn’t count as the wireless charger is still plugged into a socket, and your phone has to be in contact with the charging plate)

What is the most useless product you have ever seen? Originally Answered:  What is the silliest most worthless product/invention you have ever seen? I saw this on a program that was discussing such products. You know those times when you have the urge to go for your no.1 but are too lazy? It’s ok, we’ve all done it before, peed in the shower or even peed in the pool. But what if you’re basically miles away from the nearest toilet? Do you just pee in public? Well a Floridan urologist invented a solution for this dilemma that is perfect for use at a local golf course. It’s called the  UroClub . You can see it’s a little bit wider than the traditional club and there’s a green cloth to hide your parts while you are standing in the sun during a gold game with your mates.  Basically it’s a club that you can pee right into and hold your slosh, avoiding you having to make express trips off the greenery while not having to face the embarrassment of getting caught peeing in ...

What is the most surprising and out of nowhere piece of scientific technology that we thought was impossible? In 1961 radioisotope thermoelectric generator were first used. Radioisotope thermoelectric generator are sometimes called nuclear batteries but that is a bit of a misnomer since there is no fission or fusion taking place. Since that first use in 1961 the radioisotope thermoelectric generator has been put in over 2 dozen space craft or used in various space missions which have yielded amazing discoveries. “ Each  RTG  had a total weight of 37.7 kg including about 4.5 kg of Pu-238. It uses 24 pressed plutonium-238 oxide spheres and provides enough heat to  generate  approximately 157 watts of electrical  power  initially - halving every 87.7 years. Each  RTG  generated about 2400 Watts of thermal  power” ~ MHW-RTG - Wikipedia Three Radioisotope thermoelectric generators were used on each voyager spacecraft and are still in use to...
